GUIDELINES FOR GROUP PROJECT 2
1 Each group of students is required to submit the “Market Research”, “Business Strategy” and “Business Operations” sections of the business plan.
1.1 Market Research
o Market description, projections and segments.
o Target customers and market opportunities.
o Competitive analysis and advantages.
o Current and potential future competition.
o Long-term opportunities.
1.2 Business Strategy
o Product line and target market.
o Pricing.
o Distribution.
o Promotion.
1.3 Business Operations
o Choice of location and premises.
o Staffing.
o Business operations.
2 Each group is required to submit written report of at least 2000 words excluding diagrams, charts, tables, references, etc.
3 The enclosure of the reports may include additional diagrams, charts, references, etc., which the group has obtained in the process of researching on the topic.
4 Each group of students is required to deliver a 15-minutes presentation of the “Market Research”, “Business Strategy” and “Business Operations” portions of the business plan. Each student in the group must present his/her part within 4-5 minutes.
5 A question and answer session will follo0w after each group’s presentation during which members of the other groups may ask questions or seek clarification.
Marking Scheme
6 The assessment will comprise of a Group Assessment and Individual Assessment, which constitute 70% and 30% respectively of the total mark for Group Project 2.
